The Columbus Blue Jackets have announced that forward Sean Monahan and defenseman Erik Gudbranson have been activated from injured reserve. OFFICIALLY BACK!!💥We've activated Erik Gudbranson and Sean Monahan off Injured Reserve! 📝https://t.co/GEtQgtqRLw@RuoffMortgage | #CBJ pic.twitter.com/PMn1c6HkiG— Columbus Blue Jackets (@BlueJacketsNHL) March 24, 2025 This is undoubtedly good news for the Blue Jackets, as they are currently trying to stay in the playoff race. At the time of this writing, they have lost six games in a row and are four points behind the Montreal Canadiens for the final wild card spot in the Eastern Conference. Thus, they need all the help they can get right now, so getting Monahan and Gudbranson back is significant. Monahan, 30, has not played for the Blue Jackets since their Jan. 7 matchup against the Pittsburgh Penguins. The veteran forward missed 28 games due to a wrist injury but is now good to get back into game action. In 41 games this campaign, the 2013 first-round pick has 14 goals, 41 points, and a plus-17 rating. Overall, he has been excellent for Columbus this season, so their forward group is getting a significant boost with him back in the lineup.Gudbranson, on the other hand, has missed each of the Blue Jackets' last 66 games after undergoing shoulder injury back in October. The 33-year-old defenseman is a key part of the Blue Jackets' blueline, so they will certainly be happy about having the stay-at-home blueliner back in the lineup. In three games this season, he has zero points, four hits, and an even plus/minus rating. This is after he had six goals and set new career highs with 20 assists and 26 points in 78 games last season.photo credit: © Eric Hartline-Imagn Images...
