The 19-year old forward is off to DU to play college hockey.
The Top 25 Under 25 is a collaboration by Mile High Hockey staff members. Five writers have ranked players under the age of 25 in the Colorado Avalanche organization as of August 1, 2024. Now, we’ll count down each of the 25 players ranked.
Jake Fisher is one of the newest additions to the Colorado Avalanche organization, as he was drafted his second time through at #121 overall in the fourth round of the just concluded 2024 NHL Draft. The 19-year old center most recently spent the 2023-24 season winning a Clark Cup championship with the Fargo Force in the USHL. Fisher has also committed to the University of Denver to play NCAA hockey and is expected to start there this fall.
Fisher made his debut for Fargo during the 2022-23 season, where he palyed 12 games and put up one goal but primarily spent the season playing for his Minnesota high school team, which is probably what prevented him from getting drafted in 2023. Fisher continued playing for Fargo during the 2023-24 season and experienced a breakout, where he played 51 games and put up 23 goals and 24 assists for 47 points in total.

While his scoring abilities were already evident based on his 2023-24 statistics, Fisher was also in attendance at Development Camp where he showed off some of that nice shot he possesses. Hopefully Fisher can continue to round out his skill set at DU this upcoming season and going forward. We have him conservatively raked tied at 18th but there is certainly runway for this raw but talented prospect to show himself worthy of a NHL contract when he’s finished at Denver and move up our lists.
