Rask retires from NHL after 15 seasons with Bruins
- The Bruins said Monday that Rask would not play this week because of a lower-body injury.
- "There have been some tough conversations, especially given that I've known the road all along and the commitment he's made to get back to giving himself an opportunity to play again at the level that he expected to return to," Bruins general manager Don Sweeney said Thursday.

- "The only way you can do it is by playing, and we're midway [through] the season," Rask said recently.

- Last season, he was 15-5-2 with a 2.28 GAA, .913 save percentage and two shutouts in 24 regular-season games, and 6-4 with a 2.36 GAA and .919 save percentage in 11 Stanley Cup Playoff games.
- "The rehab, the workouts, the practices -- all of it was with the intention of getting back to where I needed to be to help my teammates win games and make another run at a Stanley Cup," Rask said
