The Winnipeg Jets and Anaheim Ducks are playing tonight on the same night the Jets honour Teemu Selanne and Teppo Numminen. Selanne was a long time Duck and won the Stanley Cup with them. I am ignoring the fact they both never played for the franchise because that’s not fun.
The Ducks are a young team that is struggling to get wins while the Jets have been stringing along wins. It’s not that the Ducks don’t have talent, but they are young and struggling because of it. They might be able to turn it around, but at the moment they just are not showing up well.
As for the Jets, even with the game against the Calgary Flames they have been playing well and winning. They also have the good news that Nikolaj Ehlers appears to be on the mend and closer to returning from his injury. This is good news as they have learned Mason Appleton is out for the next while with a wrist injury. The Jets will once again be looking for someone to step up in his place until Ehlers returns. The Jets are finally about to enter a busier time playing wise, so it is good that Ehlers is nearing return. ...
