Sharangovich was one of Calgary's lone bright spots last season, scoring 31 goals and recording 59 points, which was good for second on the team.Sharangovich had a busy summer, inking a five-year extension with the Flames, worth $28.75 million total. The deal is set to kick in after the 2024-25 season. He'll then become the third highest paid Flame, behind only Jonathan Huberdeau and Nazem Kadri, so it's become obvious quick, GM Craig Conroy loves what he sees from his one-time trade acquisition from the New Jersey Devils. The Flames must have their roster finalized by 5pm and submitted into the NHL, while also being cap complaint, which won't be an issue for the re-tooling club. Meanwhile, everything starts for real this week as the Flames faceoff against the rival Vancouver Canucks on Wednesday, Oct.9 in their season opener.Flames fans may be in for a long season after Conroy made several trades last season and wasn't very aggressive on the free-agent market this summer.Yegor Sharangovich had a Jet player fall on his leg.
