WCHA Men Finalize Playoff Format

The WCHA men’s league officially announced their playoff format for the 2020-2021 season. While other leagues have gone to single-elimination formats in light of the challenges of the ongoing pandemic, the WCHA’s format looks remarkably similar to what we’re traditionally used to.
All eight of the league’s teams that are participating this season will make the league playoffs, with the top four teams hosting one of the lower four in a best-of-three playoff series the weekend of March 12-14.
The following weekend, the highest remaining seed will host the other three remaining seeds at their home arena, with a pair of one-game semifinals on March 19, followed by the league championship game on March 20.
The winner of the league tournament will receive the WCHA’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament....
