The Winnipeg Jets are first in their division and playing the current Stanley Cup Champions (and divisional rivals) the Colorado Avalanche tonight. This is their last light week of games before they hit December running with a load of them in a short amount of time. The Jets have done really well building up a lead in points on non-playoff teams so if a slide hits, they will be well-positioned to withstand it.
The Colorado Avalanche are not nearly as dominant as they were last season which is their version of the Cup Hangover. They still have dominant players like Cale Makar, but they have been hit by injuries including one to captain Gabriel Landeskog. They are not a bad team though and just like with the Dallas Stars, the Jets will need to be on their game to get a win. The Jets are coming off of a high with a 7-2 win against the Chicago Blackhawks, but they are not playing the Hawks anymore.
It is likely that Connor Hellebuyck will be starting for the Jets, but I have not seen this confirmed anywhere. The Avs will most likely start Alexander Georgiev as this is an important divisional game for them. It should be a good goalie battle tonight. ...
