LA Kings Forward Headed for Surgery, Out 3-5 Months
Los Angeles Kings forward Viktor Arvidsson had to sit and watch as his team battled the Edmonton Oilers in the first-round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Now we know what was going on. Arvidsson is heading under the knife as the veteran winger is slated to have back surgery and is expected to miss 3-5 months. He'll have surgery on Tuesday to repair a herniated disc and according to Kings general manager Rob Blake, it's going to be awhile before we see Arvidsson suit up on the ice. It's likely he misses training camp and returns towards the end of October.Arvidsson, the long-time Nashville Predator, just completed his first season with the Kings and the 29-year-old ranked 3rd on the team in goals (20) and assists (29). He appeared in 66 regular-season games and had to sit out the Kings final regular season game and of course, all seven games against the Oilers. The Kings acquired Arvidsson for a couple of draft picks and hope he can return to full strength to play most of the 2022-23 NHL season.Photo credit: Stephen Brashear-USA TODAY Sports...
