Blackhawks' Jujhar Khaira out for remainder of season after back surgery

February 23, 2022, 11:59 AM forward will miss the remainder of the season after having successful surgery on his lower back. In a statement, the team said the surgery was performed by Dr. Alpesh Patel at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. Khaira last played on Jan. 17 with a back injury and he was moved to long-term injured reserve on Feb. 18. He was taken off on a stretcher after a hit from the Rangers' Jacob Trouba in a game on Dec. 7 and later diagnosed with a concussion. It's unclear if the back injury is related to the hit from Trouba....
