Team Canada Names Olympic Goaltenders
Hockey Canada has been busy getting some players ready for the 2022 Winter Olympics and their roster is very close to being finalized after the team announced the goaltenders who will be in the mix to start for Team Canada.The trio includes Buffalo Sabres top prospect Devon Levi, Edward Pasquale and Matt Tomkins. Levi is the youngest of the group at only 20 years old and he's been ripping up the NCAA this season at Northeastern University with a 1.55 goals against average and a .948 save percentage in 24 games.As for Pasquale, he's the elder of the group at 31 years old and has been on fire this season in the KHL. So far in 38 games for Yaroslavl Lokomotiv, the netminder has recorded a 1.99 GAA and a .916 sv %. If the name seems familiar that's because Pasquale spent a cup of coffee with the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2018-19.As for Tomkins, he's a member of the Frolunda HC in the Swedish League. Once a Chicago Blackhawks draft pick, this season he's played 23 games and has a 2.32 GAA and a .913 sv %.
