No recalls from this group, yet. It was a very busy month of November for the Colorado Eagles as they played nearly every other day and ended up with a with a 9-3-1 record for the month. It was a home-heavy slate with only five games on the road and the Eagles made the most of it as they currently sit third in the Pacific Division with 23 points.
It was also a month of roster turmoil, as is typical of the AHL, punctuated by call ups and injuries. What made it such a difficult month to evaluate from a Colorado Avalanche perspective is that the bulk of their developing forward recall options are out with injury including Jean-Luc Foudy, Ondrej Pavel, Jason Polin and Matthew Stienburg who was injured in his first game back in the AHL.
First Star - LW Jere Innala - 17GP: 5G, 9A, 14P
It was a slow start for the 26-year old forward in his first season in North America with just two points in October but he found his groove in the month of November with a consistent 12 points generated through the month. It was a surprise that Innala hadn’t earned his NHL debut with that showing but there’s still time for him to get an opportunity. As a smaller forward his specialty is touch on the puck around the net.

Second Star - C Jake Wise - 13 GP: 6G, 6A, 12P
If he had a NHL contract Jake Wise might have been in the conversation for a recall to the Avalanche but what he did get was a PTO turned into a AHL deal with the Eagles. If the name sounds familiar, Wise was indeed a third round pick of the Chicago Blackhawks in 2018. They elected to not sign Wise out of college and he played for both the AHL clubs Charlotte Checkers and Chicago Wolves last season. Maybe Wise has found a home with the Eagles as he’s enjoyed a very productive start in his time in Colorado, coincidentally beginning on the first of November.

Third Star - RW Matthew Phillips - 17GP: 5G, 13A, 18P
Generally AHL veterans aren’t chosen for the three stars as this is done from an Avalanche perspective but Phillips was hard to ignore due to an abundance of prospect injuries and that he himself had a very productive month. Phillips accumulated a 10-game point streak in the month and finished off with 14 total points. He is doing his job as a veteran known for producing in the AHL and leads the team with six power play points. As someone new to the organization Phillips might get a recall as a reward for his performance in Loveland.
