Today’s open discussion thread, complete with your daily dose of Flyers news and notes… *One can assume that the league isn’t very happy about all of these lottery wins leading to high picks for not-the-worst teams, because they’ve proposed a bunch of changes to the lottery process that are aimed at stopping this from happening. Because the league, famously, hates fun.
The NHL is proposing changes to the draft lottery that would see:* teams limited to no more than two lottery wins in a five-year period* teams only allowed to jump 10 spots with a lottery win* a reduction in the number of picks decided by lottery from three to two— Chris Johnston (@reporterchris) March 8, 2021
*Anyhoo, the Flyers. Right back at it again tonight, this time against the Sabres. It should be a chance for them to get a good win in and move in the right direction. Before that, here’s what we learned from the disappointing effort against the Capitals on Sunday. [BSH]
