Blackhawks hire Cubs executive Jeff Greenberg as associate GM

The have hired Chicago Cubs executive Jeff Greenberg as associate general manager, the team announced Thursday. The Blackhawks previously interviewed Greenberg for the role of general manager as part of their messaging that they were open to options outside of hockey. The team eventually settled on naming Kyle Davidson, then the interim general manager in the wake of Stan Bowman's firing, to the role on March 1. Greenberg's hiring rounds out the Blackhawks' executive team, as Norm MacIver was also hired as an associate general manager on March 9. Greenberg started with the Cubs as a baseball operations intern in 2012 and, after holding roles as director of pro scouting and baseball operations, director of baseball operations, and assistant to the general manager, he assumed the role of assistant general manager in 2020....
