Seattle Kraken and Nashville Predators Complete Big Trade

2 years ago  /  NHL Trade Rumors

After Nashville Predators general manager David Poile mentioned weeks ago he was expecting a quiet trade deadline, he's busy late Sunday night completing some business. The veteran executive sent his second-round pick at this summer's draft to the Seattle Kraken for defenseman Jeremy Lauzon.Seattle gets a 2nd rounder in 2022 for Lauzon https://t.co/KXCyrHD18k— Pierre LeBrun (@PierreVLeBrun) March 21, 2022 The 24-year-old defenseman wasn't a name mentioned a ton out of Seattle as someone being available so the move has a level of surprise for both clubs. Lauzon recorded six points in 53 games for the expansion Kraken and moves on to his third franchise since being selected in the second round by the Boston Bruins in 2015.Lauzon isn't shy of mucking it up in the dirty areas of the ice and plays hard minutes, averaging 17:48 during his time with the Kraken. This included almost two minutes a night killing penalties. He's become a hitting machine with 176 hits on the year, setting up to double his previous career high in a season. In what economy is Jeremy Lauzon worth a second round pick. pic.twitter.com/BkyzRuYPOs— Shayna (@hayyyshayyy) March 21, 2022 As for the Predators they become a team to watch as Poile shows off he's not shy to make a bold move ahead of Monday's deadline. Nashville has over $10 million in cap space to work with and a well balanced team to consider adding to. Poile also has contract talks to worry about with forward Filip Forsberg, and there's a small chance if nothing is agreed upon before noon tomorrow some trade talks will pick up. Photo credit: Stan Szeto-USA TODAY Sports...
