The Edmonton Oilers have called defenseman Philip Broberg from the Bakersfield Condors. The kid's getting his first true shot with the NHL team.Confirmed...Philip Broberg is coming to Edmonton. Slater Koekkoek left last night with an injury and is out.Broberg could make his NHL debut tomorrow v. Chicago. #Oilers— Jason Gregor (@JasonGregor) November 19, 2021 Broberg is viewed as one of Edmonton's top prospects, so their fans will be ecstatic to see the 20-year-old to make his regular season debut with the NHL team. He has a plethora of potential to be special, as he was drafted 8th overall by the Oilers in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft. Broberg is in the first season of his professional career in the United States. In 13 games with the Condors this season, he has 10 assists. Therefore, it's rather apparent that he's done a spectacular job producing offense at the AHL level.
