Predators Rumors: Andrew Brunette's Future Revealed by Insider
Things have just not gone according to plan for the Nashville Predators this season. And that has left many wondering about the future of head coach Andrew Brunette. After making a big splash in free agency last summer, signing stars Steven Stamkos, Jonathan Marchessault and Brady Skjei, the team has gone out and laid an egg this season, sitting in 7th place in the Central Division, ahead of only the Chicago Blackhawks. A week ago, Brunette blasted his team after another demoralizing effort. But according to insider Pierre LeBrun, writing in The Athletic, Brunette's job is safe. My understanding of the situation with the Nashville Predators is that if GM Barry Trotz had wanted to make a change, it would have already happened. He believes in Brunette and thinks the adversity this season will serve him well. The expectation is that Brunette will be back behind the bench next season. The 51-year-old is in his second year behind the bench in Nashville. Brunette guided the Preds to a 47-30-5 mark for 99 points in his first year on the job in 2023-24. This season? 27-37-8 for 62 points with 10 games left. He still has two more years left after this season, plus an option year, making a change even more difficult to envision. Brunette was recently named amongst four potential coaches on the hot seat once the regular season concludes two-and-a-half weeks from now. From LeBrun's report, however, it appears he is safe at this point. Photo: © Matt Kartozian-Imagn Images...
