14-year-old Slovak phenom scores on 'The Michigan' at world under-18 championship
Nela Lopusanova added another chapter to her incredible performance at the women’s world under-18 hockey championship on Thursday in Sweden. The 14-year-old Slovak star beat goaltender Felicia Frank with “The Michigan” to tie her team’s quarterfinal against host Sweden at 1-1. Lopusanova got the puck on her backhand and put it over Frank’s shoulder for the highlight-reel goal. Lopusanova led all scorers in the tournament heading into the game with six goals and three assists in three games, including a hat trick against Switzerland. “I’m amazed,” Lopusanova told the IIHF through a translator after the win against Switzerland....
