The role of head coach of the Buffalo Sabres has become one of the most unenviable positions in professional sports since Terry Pegula purchased the franchise in February 2011. It’s been a seemingly never-ending carousel that has both prevented the team from achieving any sustained improvement and made it the laughing stock of the NHL. If Granato can’t keep the Sabres trending upward next season, he could become yet another casualty of the “Curse of the Pegulas”.
