Alex Ovechkin has already collected several nuanced goal records from Wayne Gretzky including most 40-goal seasons, most road goals, and most multi-goal road games in NHL history.

On Saturday, Ovechkin collected another one from The Great One against the Boston Bruins. After sliding a puck one-handed into Boston's goalie-less goal frame, Ovechkin became the all-time leader in empty-net goals with 57, passing Gretzky who finished his career with 56.
