3 Vancouver Canucks Prospects Expected To Get NHL Playing Time In 2024-25

1 month ago  /  NHL Trade Rumors

The Vancouver Canucks arguably have a number of NHL-ready prospects that are able to step into the NHL and contribute this season if needed. A handful of them will likely be needed due to injuries throughout the season. At the very least, the team is expected to make the playoffs fairly easily, so some may just be able to get in some games in the latter half of the season as a bit of a tryout. These are three Canucks prospects who should get some NHL playing time this season.Arturs SilovsArturs Silovs made his name in the postseason for the Canucks in 2024 and got himself the backup job this season with Casey DeSmith leaving. There is a bit of injury concern with both Thatcher Demko and Silovs, but the expectation is that the rookie goalie will play the majority of the season. The 23-year-old got into four regular season games and 10 playoff games in 2023-24 for the Canucks, but his numbers could improve overall.Arshdeep BainsThe Canucks called up the undrafted Arshdeep Bains for eight games last season, but he wasn't able to produce any offense like he did very well in the AHL. In the minors, Bains scored 16 goals and 55 points in 59 games. He is 23 years old and will compete for a spot in the NHL this season. He is a great fit for the Canucks' bottom-6 moving forward.Aatu RatyAatu Raty, though a bit younger than Bains, is in the same position. He is talented enough that he can be playing in the NHL right now. Raty has a little experience in the NHL already, scoring two goals and three points between the New York Islanders and the Canucks. He put up big offensive numbers in the AHL last season with 18 goals and 52 points in 72 games. His ceiling is likely a third line center, but should definitely get into some games in the bottom-6 this season in Vancouver.Photo credit: © Matt Kartozian-Imagn Images...
