Trade: Ducks & Sharks Pull Off 1-for-1 Deal
We have a trade to announce, though it won't be tipping the balance of power in the NHL anytime soon. The Anaheim Ducks and San Jose Sharks have swapped a pair of AHL wingers, with Justin Bailey heading down the coast to the Ducks, while Pavol Regenda heads in the other direction, on the way to San Jose. TRADE: Anaheim has acquired RW Justin Bailey from San Jose for LW Pavol Regenda.— David Pagnotta (@TheFourthPeriod) January 22, 2025Bailey, 29, is a former second-round pick of his hometown Buffalo Sabres (2013 NHL Draft), and has 141 games of NHL experience, most recently last season with the Sharks, playing 59 games and recording 14 points. He has spent this season thus far with the Barracuda of the AHL, and will join the Ducks' AHL team, the San Diego Gulls. He has plenty of experience at the minor pro level, with 255 points in 403 AHL games over the last 10 years. Regenda heads from San Diego up the coast to the Sharks' farm club in San Jose, after posting four goals and 12 assists for 16 points in 36 games this season. The 25-year-old has just 19 games of NHL experience over the last two seasons with the Ducks.
