In Raleigh, the Carolina Hurricanes’ hit for a hat trick on Thursday night in a 7-2 thumping of the visiting Edmonton made 20 saves in the Canes win. Carolina improved to 9-4-1. Svechnikov opened the scoring in the first period for the Canes for a 0 lead. The Oilers finally got on the board in th4e second period when the puck deflected off cut the lead to 2-1. and bookended Svechnikov’s hat trick goal for the 7-2 final in the third period....
