NHL Rumors: 3 Potential Trade Destinations For Andreas Johnsson
After losing six straight games and only winning one out of their last 10, the New Jersey Devils now sport a 15-25-5 record. Needless to say, they will be sellers at the deadline. One player who is currently in the rumor mill is forward Andreas Johnsson. The 27-year-old is having a very good season, as he has 11 goals to go along with 14 assists. Now may be the best time for New Jersey to move him, as his trade value is at its highest. With that, he also is under contract until the 2022-23 season, so he'd be more than a rental if acquired by another team.Alas, here are three potential landing spots for Johnsson. Los Angeles Kings: At this point of the season, the Kings have a 24-16-7 record and are second in the Pacific Division. They are truly moving past their rebuilding stage and could actually be buyers at the deadline because of it. When looking at their forward group, they could use another middle-six winger. Johnsson would be a wonderful option for them, as he can play both sides and give them more of a jolt offensively.Dallas Stars: The Dallas Stars are currently trying to claw themselves back into a playoff spot. At this juncture, they trail the Calgary Flames by four points for the second Wild Card spot. Therefore, they are very much still in the running to be a playoff team. Adding a guy like Johnsson could be interesting to them, as he would not only give them another middle-six option at wing but also would be locked up for next season, too. With their current placement in the standings, it wouldn't hurt for them to lean toward acquiring players with some term. Pittsburgh Penguins: The Penguins are looking ready to go on another playoff run this season. However, an ongoing issue with them is that they have been experiencing a lot of injuries with their forwards. For example, Jason Zucker is currently on LTIR after having a setback with his injury. Perhaps Johnsson could be a player who could help replace him in the lineup.Photo Credit: © Ed Mulholland-USA TODAY Sports...
