Major Help On The Way For Bruins

2 years ago  /  NHL Trade Rumors

Boston Bruins captain Patrice Bergeron is set to return to the lineup for Thursday's game against the New York Islanders. Bergeron hasn't played since February 8th's contest against the Pittsburgh Penguins. During that game, he sustained a laceration on the back of his head. Thankfully, the 36-year-old confirmed to reporters that he did not get a concussion on the play, however. Bergeron's return is immensely important for the Bruins, as fellow star Brad Marchand is currently serving his six-game suspension. The Bruins' offense hasn't been performing well without their longtime duo in the lineup, so it's great that they will at least be getting one of them back. In 43 games this season, Bergeron has 12 goals, 23 assists, and a plus-9 rating. Although he is getting up there in age, he has yet to show any true signs of slowing down and could even land himself his fifth-career Selke Trophy by the season's end.Alas, the Bruins are getting a big boost with his return. Let's see how they perform against the Islanders because of it. Photo Credit: © Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports...
