Still missing several key players, the Isles carry on against a fellow Metro straggler. The Islanders are back home to host the Penguins, who are in a similar state except with fewer injuries and actually competent special teams.
Ahead of the game, Samuel Bolduc — who got a little over five minutes last game, was benched for his mistake and then torched by Patrick Roy afterward — was returned to Bridgeport. Sidney Crosby has 597 regular season goals so he’ll probably get a hat trick tonight to reach 600.
Roy said Ilya Sorokin gets the start.
