New York Islanders at Minnesota Wild: Parise returns [Game #10]

Semyon Varlamov gets his first start of the season while Zach Parise says hello and goodbye to some old friends. The New York Islanders (5-2-2) and Minnesota Wild (7-3-0) are both playing the back end of a traveling back-to-back, though only the Isles had to cross a border in between.
After the Islanders thoroughly handled the Winnipeg Jets last night with a 2-0 shutout for Ilya Sorokin, Semyon Varlamov finally gets his season debut tonight in St. Paul.
The Wild are coming out of their latest Covid outbreak, with Rem Pitlick and Mats Zuccarell coming off the list and possibly returning tonight.
The Wild, of course, mounted a sweet comeback win over the Penguins Saturday night, a worthy karmic victory for all of humanity.
But the big story tonight will be Parise facing the Wild for the first time since his summer buyout. No better time to pick up his first goal as an Islander.
