The Boston Bruins are reportedly making efforts to re-sign forward Danton Heinen, one of their nine pending unrestricted free agents. According to TFP’s David Pagnotta, the Bruins plan to initiate contract discussions with Heinen’s camp, led by agent Allain Roy, later this week. Heinen, who turns 29 on July 5, had a productive season, posting 17 goals and 19 assists for 36 total points across 74 games, marking the second-highest points total of his career. Danton Heinen is a third line forward who is solid defensively and can provide a little bit of secondary scoring.
