*After weeks of maybe this day, maybe that day nonsense, the league has finally confirmed that the Draft Lottery will take place May 5! Less than a week! Time to start praying to the balls gods. [NHL]



*Yesterday the Flyers extended the deal that will keep the Reading Royals as the team’s ECHL affiliate. [Inquirer]



*There are now seven (7) head coaching vacancies around the league, and now the conversation has moved from “who will this team hire?” to “which team will this coach pick?” Sellers market, if you will. [Sportsnet]



*One assumes that one thing that would make a team attractive to a currently-unemployed coach would be being close to competing for a Stanley Cup. Many people are saying this makes the Flyers one of the less attractive landing spots. [The Athletic]



*In news that will be surprising to none of you, five of those sevel coach-less teams have called Mike Sullivan to see what’s up. [TSN]



*Anyway, the Flyers. Sure they might not have a single competent goalie. And yeah, maybe their defense is sus. And they’re also lacking anything better than a third line center. But they sure are speedy! [BSH]
