NHL Rumors: Teams Calling About Maple Leafs Goalie
According to Jeff Marek, multiple teams have called the Toronto Maple Leafs about the availability of goaltender Petr Mrazek.32 Thoughts, HNIC version: Canucks/Mrazek/Mack Guzda/Manson/Ducks GM, Verbeek/Owen Tippett/No Chara at All-Star 😢 -- https://t.co/PkGH3zs4qe— Elliotte Friedman (@FriedgeHNIC) January 30, 2022 Although there certainly is a market for Mrazek right now, a trade doesn't seem likely during the regular season. Marek noted that Maple Leafs general manager Kyle Dubas that Mrazek will be a "summer conversation." Thus, the 29-year-old's future with the team will be determined during the offseason. The Leafs signed Mrazek to a three-year, $11.4 million contract during this past offseason. He carries a 10-time no-trade list, but that wouldn't be too hard for the Maple Leafs to work around - if they decide to move him. With Jack Campbell thriving but in need of a new contract this offseason, it seems very likely that they will shop Mrazek during the summer. In six appearances with the Maple Leafs this season, Mrazek has a 4-2-0 record, 3.20 goals-against average, and .896 save percentage. This kind of play is very low for his standards, as he just recorded a .923 save percentage in 12 games with the Carolina Hurricanes last season. However, he also has dealt with serious injury trouble this season, so perhaps that is playing a role in his struggles thus far. Alas, time will tell if Mrazek gets moved, but it won't be during this season. Photo Credit: © Nick Turchiaro-USA TODAY Sports...
