NHL Rumors: Capitals & Blackhawks Becoming Potential Trade Partners
It has been an incredible season for the Washington Capitals in 2024-25. They currently have a 36-11-8 record and are at the top of the Eastern Conference. With this, they are set to be big-time buyers at the 2025 NHL trade deadline, and one area they are undoubtedly looking to improve is their center depth. The Chicago Blackhawks, on the other hand, will surely be sellers. One player who is a clear trade candidate on their roster is Ryan Donato, and he stands out as a prime potential trade target for the Capitals. If the Capitals acquired Donato, he would give them a much-needed upgrade at the third-line center spot. However, due to his excellent versatility, he can also play on both wings. Thus, he could fit virtually anywhere in the Capitals' top nine if he is acquired. Donato is in the middle of an excellent season, which adds to his appeal. In 53 games, he has set new career highs with 19 goals and 37 points. With the Capitals needing more secondary offensive production. Donato could be a marvelous addition to their roster for the upcoming playoffs. It will be intriguing to see if the Capitals end up making a push for Donato, but the fit certainly looks great on paper. photo credit: © Jeff Curry-Imagn Images...
