Superfan and creative Adrienne, a.k.a. @guffychan, has advice for Avs fans who will visit Dallas in round one! The Colorado Avalanche are playoff-bound for a 7th consecutive season! To celebrate, we contacted the owner and operator of Murder On Ice Design Co., Adrienne Ruth, who is a hockey, art, and travel mystro best known for her creation of the infamous "too-many-men" graphic and t-shirt that tipafied Nazem Kadri and the Colorado Avalanche championship back in 2022. She also spearheaded the #MakeVegasNazty campaign!

NO ONE TALK TO ME THIS MAN SAID LET ME HUG YOU AND THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING YOU DID TO GET ME HERE - he knew the shoes, he knew the art, he knew it all thank you @43_Kadri #GoAvsGo pic.twitter.com/Sgs1jCD8Ko— adrienne - hockey swiftie (@guffychan) February 4, 2022

Adrienne has visited many of the different Arenas and cities that the NHL inhabits as part of the super part in superfan. As such, she is an authority on fun activities, foodie hot beds, and tips and tricks for making the most of being in Dallas for playoff hockey! I had to send Adrienne some questions; she was kind enough to write back answers in her own words. Let's see what she's got for us!

Question and Answer:
Q: First, thank you so much for taking the time to reply and for all you have done to further the Colorado Avalanche community! How excited are you for the playoffs this time around, and how's that playoff graphic coming along?
A: I think after this past weekend and seeing Landy take the ice again with the Eagles, I am infinitely more excited for the playoffs. I am also doing a LOT of scoreboard watching to see if the Flames could sneak their way into the playoffs, which is making the end of the season a little more fun since we are wrapped up. I am hoping that the little injury bug that is lingering is more precautionary, and this week, we see a lot of guys practicing and ramping up!
The playoff graphic is going really well so far. Last year, I found it hard to get into. I am not sure why, but I am really looking forward to getting this one out there. I will say it has the most Easter eggs I have ever done—hint, hint, a pretty special number of them!

Q: I'm a foodie and want to get to that first. What delicious treats and meals should Avs fans be on the hunt for while in Dallas? Also, what is the best pregame bar? (think Brooklyn's)
A: A must for any Avs fan at the American Airlines Center (AAC) is... drumroll... a 7/11 Slurpee! Yes, they have Cale Makar's favorite little cheat meal with a slurpee stand in sections 109 and 121. The last time I got a slurpee, the boys scored, so clearly, they equal goals! Beyond that, there is a wide variety of arena food, but the Tostito's Cantina would be my go-to if you didn't eat pregame (I mean a walking taco at a hockey game, 10/10). My mom would put in a rec for the frozen margs cause what is more Texas than a frozen marg at a game?

Pregame eats nearby include restaurants in Victory Park. On our last trip down, we went to Hero. The chips were perfection, but the tender baskets are the way to go. They have a corn breading (GF!), and their tots were so good! There are a variety of other bars nearby, but Hero was the most Brookylns-like!

Make sure to get some Tex-Mex anywhere! I have no specific recommendations, but most locals seem to have THEIR spot—a quick Google search will let you know where a good place is!

Q: Some fans will want to get the whole game day experience. Do you have any tips on getting autographs and pictures from the team as they arrive at the arena? What about getting ice level for warm-ups?
A: The bag policy is the same as Ball Arena, so make sure you have your small clutch unless you want to go through the X-ray area, where larger bags are allowed, just not backpacks or large totes. Doors open 90 minutes prior to puck drop for all fans, and the size limit for signs is 22" x 28".
All fans are welcome to go to warm-ups (like Ball Arena). The Avs will do warm-ups in sections 107 to 118 (where the Avs bench is). There is a side tunnel for the visiting team at 114-116, where the Avs will come out!

Q: What's your favorite hotel or part of town to stay in while visiting the Lone Star state for a hockey game?
A: I recommend staying in the Dallas Downtown Historic District! My mom and I are big walkers, and everything was walkable from here! We have also stayed with friends in more of the suburbs, but be prepared for Dallas drivers, traffic, and parking. If you do plan to ride-share to and from AAC, I HIGHLY recommend trying to get a few blocks away after the game (one time we had ride-share after ride-share cancel due to the way they close roads around post-game).

Q: If I missed something that you think all fans should know before heading out?
A: Be prepared to be surrounded in a world of GREEN - Dallas fans are VERY passionate - but that goal chant man! The lights are green constantly - half my photos from there have a green filter, lol. BUT the fans are welcoming and kind. While you are DEEP in enemy territory, they are good hockey fans. For the mascot lovers, Victor E. roams around and does not have a spot like Bernie. Also, they do sell warm-up pucks as well as other game-worn gear! I snagged a Zadorov goal puck with a Naz assist last trip! Be loud, be proud to rep the Burgundy and Blue, and Go Avs Go!
