Former Islanders Forward Signs in Sweden

NHL alum Leo Komarov has signed a one-year contract in the Swedish Elite League, joining Lulea HF for the 2022-23 season.Luleå HF (SHL) have signed forward Leo Komarov to a one-year contract.Komarov had 4 goals and 2 assists in 18 games with SKA Saint Petersburg last season. pic.twitter.com/LoXb6ZfnOH— Complete Hockey News (@CompleteHkyNews) September 4, 2022 Komarov used to be one of the biggest pests in the NHL, most recently with the New York Islanders where he dressed for four seasons.  'Uncle Leo' got his start in the league as a member of the Toronto Maple Leafs. Komarov has appeared in 491 NHL games, recording 63 goals, 107 assists and 207 minutes in penalties. He was at his best when he was roughing it up in the dirty areas of the ice, getting under the skin of opponents. Komarov loved to use his physical play and borderline decision making to keep opponents on edge. While the former Islander and Maple Leaf signs in Sweden for this upcoming season, at this point it's unsure if he'll once again attempt to join an NHL team in 2023-24.Photo credit: Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports...
