NHL insider Elliotte Friedman reported on Saturday Headlines that while talks between Bennett and the Panthers have resumed, “nothing substantial has resulted yet.” If he reaches free agency, Friedman believes Bennett would be “one of the biggest free agents available on July 1.” A four-year, $24 million deal — offering him a raise from his current $4.425 million AAV — has been floated as a possible fit for the Rangers.
