Two Elite Teams Are Top Suitors Named For Brayden Schenn

1 week ago  /  NHL Trade Rumors

The shocking news recently that the St. Louis Blues were making Brayden Schenn available (at least to some select teams) is still top of mind as the trade deadline gets ever closer. The Rumor Boyz at Spittin' Chiclets dropped the names of two elite teams that are top pursuers of the Blues captain: the Edmonton Oilers and the Vegas Golden Knights. The #RumorBoyz are hearing rumblings that Edmonton and Vegas are on Brayden Schenn watch 👀https://t.co/eS4PLBtW6F pic.twitter.com/iU8kpuBHuA— Spittin' Chiclets (@spittinchiclets) February 13, 2025"OMG, would teams be lining up with packages to get this guy," Ray Whitney says. "a warrior, a Stanley Cup champ, a captain, who's signed for three more seasons after this one at $6.5 million... ""I heard he's rumored to Edmonton and then I also heard Vegas," said Paul Bissonnette. If either of those Cup contenders are able to land Schenn it could likely make them the favorites. Insider Elliotte Friedman also recently posited that Schenn, if he's dealt, "has Vegas written all over him.""Every year (the Golden Knights) do something that nobody saw coming," added Whitney. "if they all of a sudden at the deadline got Brayden Schenn, that might be the end of me, knowing that Edmonton's gonna have to play him in the second round."Friedman, it should be noted, also mentioned the Toronto Maple Leafs recently as a potential suitor for Schenn, among the plethora of playoff contenders that would be interested. The Blues are looking for a "mammoth" return for their captain. Following up on three straight 20-goal seasons, Schenn, 33, has only 11 goals and 21 assists for 32 points in 56 games this year. But his Stanley Cup pedigree and leadership would be a valuable addition for any of those teams, most likely as a 3C, heading into the playoffs. Photo: © Christopher Creveling-Imagn Images ...
