NHL Rumors: Rangers and Stars Emerging as Trade Partners

2 years ago  /  NHL Trade Rumors

The New York Rangers aren't done, they want to add another forward before Monday's trade deadline and a potential target has become Dallas Stars veteran winger Alexander Radulov. The Rangers have shown interest in Radulov according to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman.Certainly an interesting target as the 35-year-old forward is having the worst season of his career, as he's scored only three times and added 15 helpers in 52 games. His ice-time is down to under 15 minutes per game and at $6.25 million against the cap, expect to see the Stars have to retain some salary in any move. The Rangers do have the cap space to take on a bad contract, however likely will pay a bit of a premium and have the Stars keep some money on the books. One of the biggest reasons why New York wants to get their hands on the Russian winger is the fact he's a proven Stanley Cup playoff performer and the Rangers could use some more experience. Radulov has 49 points in 64 career postseason contests.Dallas is an interesting team to watch as they have a number of players drawing interest from other teams, however are currently in playoff position in the western conference. The Stars hold the second wild-car spot via points percentage and are expected to do a little bit of everything at the trade deadline. As for the Rangers, they are looking to add another forward and move back up goaltender Alexandar Georgiev for someone cheaper with more playoff experience.Photo credit: © Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports...
