Insider Shuts Down Rumor Circulating About Hurricanes' Dmitry Orlov
Insider Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet has put an end to speculation that veteran defenseman Dmitry Orlov might be heading back to Russia next season. In his latest 32 Thoughts column, Friedman reported that despite rumors linking the 33-year-old to the KHL, “there was no truth to that rumor. Orlov has had a steady season in Carolina, recording six goals and 26 points in 71 games while averaging 20 minutes of ice time and leading all Hurricanes defensemen in hits with 97. While the Hurricanes have the cap space to bring him back, any new deal would likely come at a lower annual value than his current $7.75 million cap hit.
