Starting next season, he will have an average annual value of $7 million.Takin' Care Of Business? YOU BETCHA! pic.twitter.com/rlJ1gfjHgw— Winnipeg Jets (@NHLJets) April 17, 2025 Pionk was viewed as one of the NHL's top pending unrestricted free agent defensemen heading into the summer. However, he will now not be hitting the market after landing this nice long-term extension with the Jets. Pionk, 29, has been a very important part of the Jets' blueline over the last six seasons, so it is not surprising in the slightest that they worked hard to keep him around. He will now continue to be a key part of their top four and power play from here.Pionk appeared in 69 regular-season games this season with the Jets, where he has 10 goals, 39 points, 114 hits, and a plus-21 rating. This is after he had five goals, 33 points, and a plus-9 rating in 82 games this past season for the Jets.In 536 career NHL games over eight seasons split between the New York Rangers and Jets, Pionk has recorded 44 goals, 212 assists, 256 points, 1,178 hits, and a plus-22 rating. It will now be fascinating to see how much he improves upon these stats after landing this long-term extension from the Jets from here. photo credit: © Terrence Lee-Imagn Images...
