Maple Leafs Sign Goalie Jon Gillies
The Toronto Maple Leafs have brought another goaltender into camp, signing Jon Gillies to a PTO. He last played in three games in the NHL for the Columbus Blue Jackets in 2022-23, posting a 4.57 goals against average and an .864 SV%. Overall, his NHL numbers leave much to be desired, with an 8-16-3 mark, a 3.39 GAA, and .891 SV% in 35 games. Gillies, however, had been a fine option between the pipes in the American Hockey League, where he's compiled a 78-71-32 record in 184 games with a 2.94 GAA, .904 SV%, and nine shutouts.
