Adam Fox Takes Home His First Norris Trophy

New York Rangers defenseman Adam Fox has been named this year's winner of the Norris Trophy, awarded to the best defenceman in the NHL. Fox had a breakout season, scoring 5 goals and 42 assists for 47 points in 55 games. This is Fox's first Norris win, coming in only his second full season in the NHL at 23 years old.Fox was considered a dark horse for the award, the favorites being Tampa Bay's Victor Hedman and Colorado's Cale Makar. That said Fox's two-way play, particularly on a Rangers team that saw its share of struggles this season, put him over the top.Fox was a 3rd round pick of the Calgary Flames in 2016, taken 66th overall. In 2018, Calgary sent him, along with Dougie Hamilton and Michael Ferland, to the Carolina Hurricanes in exchange for Elias Lindholm and Noah Hanafin. A year later, Carolina flipped Fox to New York in exchange for a pair of Rangers draft picks. You have to think those two teams are questioning those trades today. Congratulations to Adam!Photo credit: Bob DeChiara-USA TODAY Sports...
