3 Potential Trade Destinations for Islanders' Bo Horvat
The New York Islanders are open for business and are reportedly taking trade calls on just about all their players. There's a sense of a changing of the guard on Long Island as the team continues to be a middle-of-the-road team, and GM Lou Lamoriello is feeling pressured to make some significant changes. While Brock Nelson is surely being moved, although he'd likely prefer to stay, center Bo Horvat has been a name that's recently popped up among trade rumor mills. Horvat is signed through the 2030-31 season at $8.5 million AAV, and does control his own destiny with a no-trade clause. Here's a few teams he could consider joining:Vancouver CanucksBo Horvat for Elias Pettersson would be a shocking trade that makes a ton of sense for both sides. Pettersson needs a change of scenery in a major way, and would give the Islanders a new face to build around. Meanwhile, Horvat is obviously very familiar with the Canucks organization and could circle back on the franchise that gave him his start in the NHL.Los Angeles KingsThe Kings are looking to make a top-six splash and Horvat is exactly that. He plays in all situations, can score in bunches, and the Kings have Quinton Byfield and Brandt Clarke, who are young up and coming core pieces who the Islanders would be interested in. Both Byfield and Clarke wouldn't need to be included to land Horvat, but a package centered around Byfield and a draft pick could get the job done.Winnipeg JetsThe Jets want help down the middle of the ice, they're a contending team who Horvat could be interested in, and they can make the money work without having to get the Islanders to retain a ton of cash. The Jets have the young assets to appease Lamoriello, so it will be interesting to see if these two teams come to terms on a move before Friday's deadline.Photo credit: Dennis Schneidler-Imagn Images...
