Boston Bruins sign GM Don Sweeney to multi-year extension

The have decided to stick with Don Sweeney, awarding their general manager with a "multi-year contract extension," according to a team announcement. Sweeney has been the club's general manager since May of 2015, with the team posting a record of 313-162-61 in that period. While in charge, the 55-year-old has seen the Bruins make the playoffs in every season except his first. Sweeney, who was named General Manager of the Year in 2019, recently fired head coach Bruce Cassidy, who was in charge of the bench for all but the first year of his tenure....
