The New York Rangers currently do not hold a playoff spot, with the NHL trade deadline rapidly approaching. Due to this, they have already made changes to their group, and more could be on the way. Pending unrestricted free agent Ryan Lindgren is their top trade candidate, and he should generate a lot of interest. When looking around the NHL, one team that should be watched incredibly closely when it comes to Lindgren is the Winnipeg Jets. It is no secret that the Jets are looking to improve their defensive group, and bringing in a shutdown blueliner like Lindgren would do just that. They should be aiming to add a left-shot defenseman, and a player like Lindgren could be a great fit for them because of it.If the Jets acquired Lindgren, he could slot very nicely on their second pairing with Neal Pionk. In addition, he would also provide them with another clear option for their penalty kill because of his defensive play.Lindgren, 27, has appeared in 50 games this season with the Rangers, where he has two goals, 13 assists, 15 points, 56 hits, and 92 blocks. In 383 games over seven NHL seasons with the Rangers, he has 12 goals, 95 points, and a plus-98 rating. It will be intriguing to see if the Jets and Rangers can complete a deal centering around Lindgren from here.photo credit: © Wendell Cruz-Imagn Images...
