Islanders in, Penguins out
In Elmont, the New York Islanders got two goals from Brock Nelson, and defeated the Montreal Canadiens, 4-2, on Wednesday win locked down the second wild card spot in the Eastern Conference. Nelson’s first of the match came in the opening stanza for a 1-0 lead to the Isles. Montreal tied it with 2:22 left on the first period clock off a marker from Nick Suzuki scored a shorthanded goal with just over three minutes left in the middle frame to trim the Canadiens deficit to 3-2. New York’s Anders Lee hit off the power play with four minutes left on the game clock for the 4-2 final....
