Makar sets Avalanche record for goals by defenseman in win against Flyers

DENVER -- Cale Makar scored two goals to set a franchise record for the Colorado Avalanche in a 6-3 win against the Philadelphia Flyers at Ball Arena on Friday. Makar scored his 23rd and 24th goals to pass Sandis Ozolinsh for the single-season record for goals by an Avalanche/Quebec Nordiques defenseman. "But those goals go back to the team. Flyers forward Joel Farabee had an assist and has scored nine points (three goals, six assists) in the past seven games. Avalanche defensemen have scored 55 goals this season to break the franchise record of 53, set by the Nordiques in 1992-93....
