NHL Rumors: Rangers Interested In Ducks Forward
According to Darren Dreger, the New York Rangers are very interested in Anaheim Ducks forward Rickard Rakell.ICYMI, INSIDER TRADING: #TSNHockey Insiders discuss…- Kuzmenko focused on end of season NHL decision- Leafs’ Gilman scouted two #Canucks games- Boeser, Garland could be on the move- Where #NYR are looking at for help- #Blackhawks & KaneWATCH 🌍: https://t.co/Z2bCZeKcCr pic.twitter.com/qMvglcgmKt— TSN Hockey (@TSNHockey) March 4, 2022 Ducks general manager Pat Verbeek has made it known that he will trade Rakell away by the deadline if the forward does not agree to an extension by then. He does not want to lose the 28-year-old through free agency for nothing during the offseason. Thus, if they do not reach a new deal, we very well could see him join the Rangers.Rakell is certainly someone who the Rangers would benefit from adding. They have been on the search for a top-six right winger, and he fits that description. However, he is also capable of playing left wing and center if needed, so he offers immense versatility. That only heightens his value as a player, naturally. In 46 games this season, Rakell has 15 goals, 11 assists, and a minus-6 rating. The Rangers certainly could use another scorer in their lineup. Out of all the current playoff-contending teams, they have the least amount of goals-for. They will be aiming to help fix this issue at the deadline, so let's see if Rakell ends up being their guy.
