NHL Rumors: 3 Teams Linked to Patrick Kane Trade

2 years ago  /  NHL Trade Rumors

The Chicago Blackhawks are going to move Patrick Kane before the trade deadline next season. There's already been a few rumblings this summer about a potential deal as management continues to rebuild on the fly. Captain Jonathan Toews has voiced his displeasure about being a part of the rebuild and Kane is also not interested in the new five-year plan. Here's some teams who have been linked to the superstar winger:New York RangersThe Rangers have been tied to Kane for what it feels like five years. With Artemi Panarin on Broadway, Kane would likely love to reunite with his 'favorite line mate he's ever had'. The Rangers are on the up and up and are loaded with some solid talent on very reasonable contracts. Adding Kane could get them over the hump. © Wendell Cruz-USA TODAY SportsThe Rangers are a fit financially and roster wise as they have young talent who could interest the rebuilding Blackhawks. The likes of Kaapo Kakko and Alexis Lafreniere could potentially be in play here.Anaheim DucksThe Ducks are a wild card team as they have a ton of cap space and could desperately use some more offense up front. Management went out and signed John Klingberg and Ryan Strome, showing they're interested in improving quickly. Trevor Zegras and Kane on the same line would be bananas and Ducks fans should hope the team overachieves early on next season and gets in position to add at the deadline.Detroit Red WingsAnother team on the rise, the Red Wings had themselves a solid offseason, adding the likes of David Perron, Andrew Copp, Ben Chiarot, Olli Maatta and Ville Husso. General manager Steve Yzerman is ready to mix in some veterans to his young core and the Wings could be a team to watch next season. Adding Kane is going to cost at least one high draft pick and a couple of prospects, it will be curious to see if Yzerman thinks it's time. Any blockbuster deal could hinge on an extension being signed, and of course Kane waiving his no-movement clause. The Red Wings could be a team to watch.Honorary mention to the Dallas Stars who have been linked to Kane in the past. They are in the market for left-wing help and could easily circle back on the Blackhawks' asking price.Photo credit: © Wendell Cruz-USA TODAY Sports...
