Jake Evans has been one of the most prominent names on the trade market, and is certainly the most sought-after Montreal Canadiens' piece out there. But whether they'll be trading him depends a lot on how the Habs do in their crucial next four games before the trade deadline. They're currently five points back of a Wild Card spot. And if they decide to sell, Evans will be in demand. A source told insider Marco D'Amico of rg.org: “Oh, he’s out there, and I’m hearing multiple teams.“He’s the perfect guy for a team that thinks they can make a run and needs that dependable bottom-six and PK guy. I think he will be moved for sure.”So how many teams is "multiple"? According to D'Amico, from his digging, he's found no less than eight that are "honing in" on Evans (in alphabetical order):Chicago BlackhawksLos Angeles KingsMinnesota WildNashville PredatorsNew Jersey DevilsNew York IslandersSeattle KrakenTampa Bay LightningThe list ranges from rebuilding teams (who will obviously looking to re-sign Evans as a piece for the future) to playoff contenders looking to beef up their bottom-six and their penalty kill. And even some teams in between (e.g. Islanders, Predators). Pending UFA Evans looking for 5-year extensionWhichever team lands him, if they're hoping to re-sign him, will have to pony up a long-term extension. Per insider Renaud Lavoie, Evans wants to double his paycheck, to north of a $3.5 million AAV, with a five-year term. What are the Canadiens looking for in return in a trade? D'Amico's source told him they "would love to acquire roster players or players on the verge of making the roster as opposed to picks."Lavoie confirmed this on Tuesday, saying later-round picks, in particular, have zero interest to GM Kent Hughes. They already have nine picks in the first four rounds at this year's draft. The 28-year-old Evans has 11 goals and 16 assists in 57 games this season. He's a former 7th round draft pick (2014). Photo: © David Kirouac-Imagn Images...
