3 Potential Trade Destinations for St. Louis Blues' Brayden Schenn

An interesting report came out on Thursday, stating the St. Louis Blues are listening to trade offers on captain Brayden Schenn. TSN's Darren Dreger reports GM Doug Armstrong is gauging the market to see what kind of price he can drive up for his two-way captain.Schenn has a full no-move clause this season, so a trade would have to be something he approves. His clause drops to a 15-team no-trade list beginning next season, and lasts until his contract - which carries a $6.5-million cap hit - expires in 2028. Three potential trade destinations include:Toronto Maple LeafsThere's a link to head coach Craig Berube, and a desire to land a centre from Leafs' GM Brad Treliving. As Dreger points out in his report, any trade would have to be a 'mammoth' offer, and with the Leafs not carrying a 2025 first-round pick, they could have to move both top prospects in Easton Cowan and Fraser Minten, along with likely Max Domi. Schenn would fit in nicely as the shut-down centre in Toronto, and certainly plays a style of game that suits their makeup. Colorado AvalancheThe Avs are trying to move Casey Mittelstadt and want a player with more two-way in his game. Schenn would bring a ton of experience to Colorado and a strong 200-foot game that could be a great complement on the team's second line. Schenn's recorded 11 goals, and 30 points in 55 games so far this year, and could see the Avs as an approved landing spot thanks to their chances of winning a Stanley Cup. Mittelstadt and top prospect Callum Ritchie would be a starting point here.Calgary FlamesMaybe the favorites in this all, the Flames are close to home for Schenn, they have a need down the middle of the ice, and GM Craig Conroy isn't shy to make a bold move, like we've already seen this season. The Flames have loads of cap space and can fit in Schenn without given up anyone on their current roster, so Conroy could lace his trade offer with draft picks and prospects. Calgary has two first-round picks in 2025, and 2026, and could move Matt Coronato as someone the Blues could insert into their lineup immediately. Photo credit: Bob Lee, Imagn images...
