Report: Maple Leafs & Jets discussing trade for Flyers' Scott Laughton
The Philadelphia Flyers have been busy fielding calls on center Scott Laughton. GM Daniel Briere has been discussing Laughton in trade talks with the Toronto Maple Leafs and Winnipeg Jets, this according to Daily Faceoff's Anthony DiMarco.Sounds like trade talks are heating up around #Flyers center Scott Laughton.Sources indicate #Leafs and #nhljets are two of the teams who have shown the most interest, but handful of teams are in the mix.@DailyFaceoff— Anthony Di Marco (@ADiMarco25) February 8, 2025The Flyers are looking to re-tool on the fly, and will want NHL ready prospects, or young roster players in return. One name to watch is Maple Leafs' prospect Fraser Minten, who the Flyers could see as a perfect replacement eventually for the third-line center role.Laughton brings a bulldog mentality to the rink each and every game, he's perfectly suited for playoff hockey, and teams are willing to look past his down season offensively with the type of intangibles he brings to each contest. The 30-year-old Oakville, ON native is signed through next season at $3 million AAV, and does not hold any trade protection. Through 53 games this year, Laughton has recorded 10 goals and 15 assists for 25 points, and in his career in the postseason, Laughton has tallied 10 points in 24 Stanley Cup Playoff games. His next playoff games could be coming as soon as this season, with either the Jets or Maple Leafs. The NHL's trade deadline is March 7.Photo credit: © Eric Hartline-Imagn Images ...
